Why Walk & Talk is so effective

Getting on the move.
Get thoughts moving. New clarity.
To have the courage to go new ways.

From experience, everyone knows…

…talking while walking is simply easier for us easier, and conversations on the way are often of a special depth and intensity.

Hardly anything is better to get our head clearer and to see things from a different, freer perspective. perspective.

In the movement in the fresh air it is easier to get our thoughts and ideas moving.

We feel freer, see the world from a new perspective, detach ourselves more successfully from brooding and discover new strategies for action.

It is scientifically proven that the simple act of walking increases our own creativity.

The reason for this is that our two brain hemispheres communicate much better with each other in the slow, steady movement when walking

In addition, being outdoors Vitamin D levels, strengthens the immune system, relaxes the nervous system, sets endorphins, releases endorphins and lowers the stress hormone cortisol.

Walk & Talk uses all these effects and enables a sustainable process towards inner growth, health and higher quality of life

and beyond….
…if you feel uncomfortable at the thought of a of a conversation in a cramped office space and therefore have maybe avoided professional support, a Walk&Talk appointment is just the right thing for you.

How did it all begin?

It all began when, as a senior physician I moved the conversation with a young adult outside to the park.

The client seemed more relaxed and free in his whole manner and told me about thoughts that he had that he had only rudimentarily told me about in the weeks before. Afterwards he seemed more energetic and in a better mood.

I increasingly moved the conversations outdoors and observed that the mood of the clients not only brightened for a short time, but this gain in energy often lasted, and that they felt more more satisfied.

We are not the first

Already Aristotle held his school of thought in ancient Greece while walking. Immanuel Kant used to take creative walks through his hometown of Königsberg and Herrmann Hesse wrote many books while he was walking in the mountains of Ticino. There are numerous other examples of people who realized that they could think better by thinking in motion.

The Walk & Talk method established itself at the end of the 1990s, mainly through the work of the American psychologist Dr. Kate Hays (Working it out: Using Exercise in Psychotherapy, 1999)

“I have thought my best thoughts and know no sorrow that cannot be made to go away.”
— Sören Kierkegaard, Danish philosopher and writer

..and it is becoming more and more popular.

In New York’s Central Park, this setting is already a familiar option for many New Yorkers to see their therapist or coach. Especially people who sit in an office all day are increasingly choosing this uncomplicated, healthy dynamic outdoor setting.
